Some would call it an entrepreneurial itch. Chris Janota knew he wanted to build his own book of business, his way. Fueled by his passion and entrepreneurial drive – he founded Envoy Wealth Management in 2017. About Chris Janota
Chris Janota entered the financial services industry in 2005, first with a mortgage company and then with an internship at a national wire house. He received an economics degree from Northern Illinois University and later joined the independent advisor channel directly in 2010. In 2017, Janota decided it was time to build his own practice his own way, and founded Envoy Wealth Management. Envoy, located in Crown Point, Indiana, focuses on providing financial planning and investment management to small business owners and their families. Janota also serves on Cambridge’s New Century Council and Practice Management Advisory Council and was named a 2022 InvestmentNews 40 Under 40 honoree.
Janota is very active in his community – he is board president of two separate non-profit organizations – Act of Grace, which aims to provide social and emotional support for children with epilepsy, and the Park Forest (IL) Historical Society, a board in which his grandfather served on over 30 years ago. Janota also volunteers with his alma mater, Northern Illinois University, and works with both InvestWrite and LifeHappens organizations, focusing on financial literacy in schools and scholarship review.
Outside of work, Chris enjoys reading, cooking, baseball, playing golf (poorly), and spending time with his wife, Megan.
