Cambridge Appoints Andrea Shafer, Greg Turner, and Val Vest to Executive Council

These appointments are part of Cambridge’s continued journey to ensure the company’s internal control and ability to respond to the ever-changing financial services landscape

FAIRFIELD, IA – January 10, 2024 — The new year brings exciting growth opportunities to Cambridge’s Executive Council by appointing Andrea Shafer, Greg Turner, and Valarie (Val) Vest to the executive team. These leaders bring decades of key industry experience to Cambridge and will play a central role in maximizing value for its financial professionals, driving revenue growth, and accelerating innovation as the company continues to launch new financial solutions and initiatives.

Andrea Shafer, Executive Vice President and Chief Supervision Officer
Andrea joined Cambridge in 2007 and has over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry. She is responsible for leading and overseeing the Advocacy and Supervision Team, and providing guidance for legal and regulatory issues while developing and executing overall strategic planning for the firm. She has been responsible for long-term strategic planning efforts, previously served as interim Chief Compliance Officer, and has overseen Cambridge’s Regulatory Affairs and Advocacy and Supervision teams with a focus on risk mitigation.

Greg Turner, Executive Vice President, Consulting Services
Greg joined Cambridge in 2023 and has nearly 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. He leads Cambridge’s Consulting Services department and is heavily involved in the development, enhancement, and ongoing delivery of the team’s efforts promoting practice management, succession and acquisition solutions, and financial institutions. He is also responsible for the delivery of our outsourcing solutions program called Cambridge Source, which enhances efficiency for financial professionals, and ultimately their profitability.

Val Vest, Executive Vice President and Chief Experience Officer
Val joined Cambridge in 2018 and has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. She collaborates with teams across the firm, shaping key client-centric strategies designed to deliver exceptional financial professional and associate experiences. She also works directly with financial professionals, associates, and leadership teams to identify emerging trends and translate insights into actionable strategies that create growth and meaningful engagement across all touchpoints.
