FAIRFIELD, IA – March 10, 2026 — Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. (“Cambridge”), a leading independent financial solutions firm serving 4,100 advisors nationwide, today announced the appointment of Jake Reed as Vice President, Software Engineering. In this role, Reed will set the strategic direction for Cambridge’s software engineering initiatives, working closely with product teams to deliver scalable, cloud-enabled platforms that enhance the advisor experience.
Reed joins Cambridge after nearly 15 years at Wells Fargo, where he led a team of more than 150 developers and spearheaded the modernization of the firm’s home-lending technology ecosystem, advancing cloud adoption and improving platform scalability and performance. In addition to his technology leadership responsibilities, Reed served as an Executive Director and worked with senior management to streamline processes and drive efficiencies across multiple teams. Prior to Wells Fargo, Reed held enterprise application development roles at J.P. Morgan Chase, where he delivered cross-functional technology initiatives across large-scale financial systems. Reed earned a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa before acquiring an MBA from Drake University.
