Episode 161: Charting a Course for Young Professionals

Andrea Shafer of Cambridge

“There’s something for everyone in our industry, no matter what your talents are. I don’t want people to think ‘I don’t like numbers’ or ‘I don’t want to follow the stock market’ because it’s so much more than that.”

Andrea Shafer’s journey originally began as a law student dreaming of a career in international law. Now, nearly 15 years later, she’s the first vice president of legal at Cambridge. Andrea’s road to success has taken a few twists and turns, including different roles. But, they’ve all had two things in common; hard work and perseverance.

As one of the youngest members of Cambridge’s leadership team, Andrea highlights how she draws from past experiences to help shape the future for the next generation of financial professionals. She brings a fresh perspective and problem-solving mindset to the table, while navigating our industry’s ever-changing regulatory landscape.

Andrea is one of just 40 individuals under the age of 40 selected to receive a 2022 InvestmentNews 40 Under 40 award, a prestigious accolade presented to professionals making a significant positive impact in the advice industry and their local community.
