“As bad as these things are and as hard as they are to live through, you do see good come out of them and you do see neighbors helping neighbors.” – Kelly Cartier
Kelly Cartier, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and founder of Cartier Financial in Clermont, Florida, has seen many hurricanes in her lifetime – but there was no way to predict the impact this year’s back-to back-storms Helene and Milton would leave behind. Kelly was just one of Cambridge’s many financial professionals whose communities were affected by these disastrous storms. From a personal and business perspective – Kelly walks listeners through the preparation process and how her team communicated with clients and leveraged their business continuity plan. While Kelly shares gratitude for her team's quick response and neighbors helping neighbors, her experience with Helene and Milton has her asking herself, ‘What can we do differently? How can we be even better prepared when another disaster strikes close to home?’
In Episode 219: When Disaster Strikes, Kelly joins Cambridge CEO and Co-Chairman of the Board Amy Webber to discuss:
Kelly grew up in Florida and loves living surrounded by lakes and hills. She graduated from the University of Central Florida (UCF) with both her BA and MBA. Kelly enjoys giving back to the community and has served on several charity boards. She loves spending time with friends and family.
While attending UCF for her undergraduate degree, Kelly began working at the First United Methodist Church preschool. After almost 10 years working with students, Kelly went back to school and received her MBA. At that time, she decided it was time to take the next step and become a financial advisor. Kelly worked with clients and became the Vice President of Investments. After several years as a branch manager and Vice President of Investments, Kelly decided it was time to find a different platform - one where she could feel truly independent. In 2009, Kelly opened Cartier Financial.
