Episode 176: A Balancing Act

Steven Lathrop

“A work balance is one of those critical things. It can’t be all about just the hours. What you need to do is plan time for your family, plan time for yourself, and make sure your work time is as efficient as it can be.”

As a business and economics major, Steven Lathrop always knew he wanted a career in finance. After beginning a career path towards becoming a Chief Financial Officer, Steven learned the corporate world wasn’t for him – he desired more flexibility. After working in insurance and securities in a captive environment, Steven decided to try his hand in the independent space and has never looked back. Don’t miss this episode of Cambridge Stronger to hear Steven reflect on his more than 20-year partnership with Cambridge, how he’s seen the industry evolve over the years, and how he managed to be a successful financial planner while remaining actively involved with the U.S. Navy.
