“If we don't stand up front and center and magnify the voices of marginalized people, then we can't expect any change to happen. And I think that it's that change that we're working towards, to be more inclusive, that's what's going to bring additional opportunity for success to both our clients and then also to our industry.”
Sometimes it’s accidental; that was the case for both Peter Bacchiocchi and Peggy Haslach. Neither of them ever envisioned themselves as financial professionals in the independent space. Peter’s journey began when an old friend reached out to him about joining the industry, and Peggy made a career change after being asked to help out a friend in need. Now, Peter serves as the Vice President of Operations and financial consultant at G9 Financial. And Peggy holds the Certified Financial Planner® designation as a financial advisor at the Finity Group, but their journeys in financial services didn’t stop there; they continue to evolve. Peter and Peggy continue to be motivated members of Cambridge’s Diversity, Equality, and Inclusion Advisory Council and the Cambridge LGBTQIA+ task force. They actively work to spread awareness around diversity, inclusivity, and equality within the financial services industry and their respective communities.

After spending several years as a teacher and working in the non-profit community, Peter entered the financial services business in April of 1981. Peter has spent about half his career in direct sales building a clientele and the other half as a manager, doing recruiting, training, and marketing. Five years ago, he was asked by Dan Girard to join his firm, Girard Financial Group, to provide organizational support as they entered a growth phase. The firm has since rebranded as G9 Financial and currently has a team of five financial professionals and three support professionals to service its growing client base.
