The Spirit of Cambridge Award is given annually to independent financial professionals and associates who are dedicated to service while reflecting Cambridge’s core values of integrity, commitment, flexibility, and kindness. Each year, Cambridge home office associates select three financial professionals and two associates from a pool of outstanding candidates who have been affiliated with Cambridge for at least 10 years.


About Kay Black

Senior Receptionist

Kay Black joined Cambridge in 2000 and has nearly 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. As a Senior Receptionist, Kay fields phone calls from Cambridge financial professionals, associates, and partners, answering questions and connecting callers with various teams and subject matter experts across the firm. In 2023, Kay and Morae Metcalf became the first two associates in Cambridge history to win the firm’s Spirit of Cambridge award. Voted on annually by Cambridge associates, the Spirit of Cambridge awards recognize five individuals who best reflect the firm’s core values. All honorees receive a donation from Cambridge to put toward a nonprofit organization of their choosing.

About Morae Metcalf

Assistant Vice President, Human Resources

Morae Metcalf joined Cambridge in 2011 and has over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry and 15 years of service in Human Resources. In her role, she leads Cambridge’s Human Resources Team, working with members of the department to develop and implement initiatives in the areas of talent acquisition, total rewards, employee engagement, performance management, and more. Metcalf serves as a co-chair on Cambridge’s Associate Engagement Leadership Committee, holds a membership with the Society for Human Resource Management, and is a graduate of Cambridge’s Aspiring Leaders and Continuous Improvement Embedded Leaders programs. She has also earned the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Society for Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) designations, holds the Series 7 license, and is a Registered Corporate Coach (RCC). Metcalf graduated from Coe College with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
