Cambridge Founder Eric Schwartz Wins Fairfield Chamber ‘Legacy’ Award

Schwartz honored for contributions to Fairfield and its surrounding communities

FAIRFIELD, IA – April 26, 2024 — Cambridge, a leading independent financial solutions firm serving more than 3,700 financial professionals across the country, congratulates Founder Eric Schwartz for receiving the Fairfield Chamber of Commerce ‘Legacy’ award. Awarded annually, the Legacy award honors individuals who have made a profound and lasting impact on Fairfield and its surrounding communities through their personal and professional work. Schwartz was named the winner at last night’s Chamber awards ceremony in Fairfield.

“It’s a true honor and privilege to receive this award,” Schwartz said. “Cambridge has had a presence in Fairfield since 1992, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to see the positive impacts to the community over the years. Thank you to everyone at the Chamber for their work in bringing these awards to our community and highlighting the great people, businesses, and stories that continue to make Fairfield so special.”

Schwartz founded Cambridge in 19811 in the Washington D.C. area, later moving the firm to a small office on the Fairfield Town Square in 1992. Today, the firm operates two office buildings on a 60-acre campus on Pleasant Plain Road in Fairfield and is a significant source of employment in the area with more than 900 associates, over 500 of which live in Jefferson County, Iowa or one of its surrounding counties. Under Schwartz’s direction, along with CEO Amy Webber and the firm’s leadership team, Cambridge has become one of the largest independent firms in the financial services industry, serving more than 3,700 financial advisors across the country and accumulating $162B in assets under advisement.2

From a community impact perspective, Cambridge has supported a number of capital efforts, including the Cambridge Little Achievers Center, a 14,000-square-foot facility that opened in Fairfield in January 2023. Cambridge was the facility’s lead sponsor, working with the Jefferson County Kids Board of Directors, Fairfield Economic Development Association, Early Childhood Iowa, and several other key partners and donors. Other local projects Cambridge has collaborated on include the remodel of the Roosevelt Recreation Center, now known as the Cambridge SportsPlex. Cambridge was also a key contributor to the Cambridge Learning Center, located at the Jefferson County Fairgrounds, as well as the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center. Additionally, The Cambridge Foundation provides grant support to a variety of qualified non-profit organizations each year.

Schwartz has been named to Investment Advisor Magazine’s ’30-for-30’ (2010)3 and 35-for-35’ (2015)4 lists, and in 2021 was honored with a ThinkAdvisor LUMINARIES award in the category of Executive Leadership.5
