Formed in 2009, the Cambridge New Century Council has played a key role in the research, development, and implementation of several firm initiatives including the build out of The Next Step® Advisor Internship Program, strategic feedback and direction of many Cambridge Source outsourcing offerings, and valuable perspectives surrounding the value to independent financial professionals for digital solutions. This council led the charge in helping Cambridge to become one of the first independent broker-dealers to enable financial professionals to compliantly use social media for their businesses. Recently, compliant texting and digital wealth – Cambridge’s CLIC® Advisor, and advisor workstation, and CLIC® Client, a client portal – were added to Cambridge’s digital solutions.
The New Century Council has engaged more than 65 Cambridge financial professionals over the last 10 years, and they have collectively been the driving force for fresh ideas, compelling topics, and driving priorities.
“At Cambridge, we believe successful financial services firms of the future must diversify their practice,” said Cambridge President and CEO Amy Webber. “Whether that diversification is by gender, generation, ethnicity, or niche, it allows financial professionals to bridge the gap between the advice business and their clients. This belief is not based on the idea that we must change the entire face of the industry, but instead it is focused on the need to add individuals into the industry to help diversify the types of services provided to clients and to leverage capacity and skill sets. The New Century Council was established to further advance this initiative across our advisor’s offices, our firm, and the industry as a whole.”
