Cambridge congratulates Mike Berry, founder of Legacy Wealth Management in Grand Junction, Colorado, for being honored by the Invest in Others Charitable Foundation as a finalist for the Catalyst Award. He will be recognized at the 13th annual Invest in Others Awards Gala, a premier event attended by more than 700 financial advisors and financial services executives at the Westin Boston Waterfront on September 26, 2019.
Berry is the founder of Kids Aid, a non-profit organization with the mission to alleviate childhood hunger by providing food to children who would otherwise go hungry. Kids Aid’s leading initiative, the Feeding Friends Backpack Program, initially provided food for 10 students in the Mesa County School District when it launched in 2007. Since then, the program has grown to provide food for over 2,000 students a week through partnerships with several local churches and over 140 volunteers.
Invest in Others recognizes the philanthropic achievements of financial advisors and financial services companies in communities across the country and around the world. Each charitable recognition is carefully chosen from hundreds of nominations received by the Invest in Others Charitable Foundation. Honorees are nominated by their peers for one of the following six categories: Catalyst, Community Service, Global Community Impact, Volunteer of the Year, Lifetime Achievement, and Corporate Philanthropy.
The Catalyst Award is an honor presented to an advisor who has been an active stimulus for positive change and displayed entrepreneurial vision and leadership to a nonprofit organization. This may involve rejuvenating an organization from failing to thriving, or helping to launch a new nonprofit organization.
